Prime Minister Narendra Modi was awarded the Speaker of the Knesset Medal—the highest honour given by Israel’s Parliament—following his address, placing him among the few global leaders to receive top civilian honours from both Israel and Palestine.
Calling it a privilege, Modi reflected on the historic ties between two ancient civilisations and expressed solidarity with Israel, strongly condemning the October 7, 2023 attack by Hamas as barbaric.
He reaffirmed India’s zero-tolerance stance on terrorism, recalled India’s own experiences with terror, supported ongoing peace efforts in Gaza, and spoke about the growing defence and strategic partnership between India and Israel amid global uncertainty.
