The Bengal Files is written and directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri and produced by Abhishek Agarwal, Pallavi Joshi and Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri
After being denied a trailer launch at one of India’s leading cinema chains earlier, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri was all set to unveil the trailer at a renowned hotel in Kolkata. But once again, political intervention seems to have played spoilsport, as the Bengal government reportedly made attempts to stall the event, preventing the filmmaker from showcasing his work. The trailer of the film has been launched in Kolkata today, August 16 which also marks the Direct Action Day.
In memory of the victims of Direct Action Day (16th August 1946), I present to you the official trailer of #TheBengalFiles — the boldest film ever on the untold story of the Hindu genocide.

The recurring resistance to the film raises a pressing question, what is it that political forces are trying so hard to suppress? The Bengal Files, much like Agnihotri’s earlier work The Kashmir Files, promises to unravel a dark chapter of history, one that has been pushed to the margins for decades.
