‘Gangnam Style’ rapper PSY booked by Seoul police for prescribing drugs without through medical examination, agency issues statement – Firstpost

‘Gangnam Style’ rapper PSY who created sensation with his song back in 2012 that went viral in no time, But as per reports, the rapper has been booked by Seodaemun Police in northwestern Seoul for prescribing drugs without through medical examination.

PSY was purchasing drugs like Xanax and Stilnox without proper medical examination because of which he has now been booked by the Seoul police. And reports also say it was his manager who was collecting the drugs on his behalf from a general hospital in Seoul back in 2022.

Rapper’s agency P Nation issues statement

The agency said, “It was clearly a mistake and lapse in judgment to have a prescription sleeping pill collected on his behalf. We sincerely apologise. PSY has been diagnosed with chronic sleep disorder.”

The statement added, “And has been taking sleeping medication in accordance with his doctor’s prescription. His use of sleeping pills has always been under medical supervision, with prescriptions given for the appropriate dosage.”

The agency concluded the statement by saying, “However, in the process, there were cases where a third party collected the sleeping pills on his behalf, and police are currently conducting an investigation. Once again, we apologise for causing concern.”
