A groundbreaking performance choreographed by Avantika Bahl that redefines what it means to be “in one’s prime”
The city of Mumbai is ready to host PRIME, a first-of-its-kind contemporary dance performance featuring senior performers who are 60+. Conceptualised, choreographed, and produced by Avantika Bahl, the production will be staged on Saturday and Sunday, September 20–21, 2025, at 7:00 PM at IfBe, 10-12 Calicut Road, Ballard Estate, Fort, Mumbai.
Gen S Life, a lifestyle app designed for the 60+, deeply resonated with Avantika’s vision and has joined as Outreach Partner to help bring this beautiful initiative to life.
The performance features eight extraordinary senior dancers, each bringing their own stories and decades of lived experience to the stage. The immersive production is further enriched by installations by Rupali Gupte and Prasad Shetty and a film by Sruti Visweswaran, adding powerful visual and emotional dimensions. Supported by the Sudarshan CSR Foundation and the Laxmidevi Nathmal Goenka Trust, PRIME represents a landmark moment in Indian contemporary dance.
Speaking about the initiative, Avantika Bahl said: “With PRIME, I wanted to explore the possibilities of the body that has lived, endured, and expressed over decades. This performance is not about youth, but about honouring memory, movement, and the fullness of experience. It is a reminder that our prime is not limited to age—it is a state of being.”
