Sameer Wankhede said the series “disseminates a misleading and negative portrayal of anti-drug enforcement agencies, thereby eroding public confidence in law enforcement institutions.”
Netflix and Aryan Khan’s ‘The Ba***ds Of Bollywood’ is silly, self-deprecating, and sensational in its craft and characters. And because it attempts to show the BTS world of Bollywood, reels were bound to go viral on social media. One scene featuring a parody of former NCB officer Sameer Wankhede has gone viral too.
And this angered the officer and as per a report, he moved the Delhi High Court claiming damages worth Rs 2 crore.
The Sameer Wankhede cameo in the Bads*** of Bollywood Is too good lol.

What did
Sameer Wankhede say in his plea?
In his plea to the Delhi High Court, Sameer Wankhede said the series “disseminates a misleading and negative portrayal of anti-drug enforcement agencies, thereby eroding public confidence in law enforcement institutions.”
The plea adds that the show “deliberately conceptualised and executed with the intent to malign Sameer Wankhede’s reputation in a colourable and prejudicial manner.”
However, the Delhi HC has rejected the former NCB officer’s plea citing- “Your plaint is not maintainable. I am rejecting your plaint. Had your case been that you were defamed at various places, including Delhi, and that maximum damage occurred here, we would have still considered it.”
Sameer Wankhede reacts
The former officer told the reporters- “I don’t want to comment on this. All I’m going to say is, satyameva jayate (truth alone triumphs).” Incidentally, a character from the web series, which Sameer alleged was based on him, also says the words ‘satyameva jayate’.”
On the issue of drug consumption, Wankhede was quoted saying, “In our Mumbai area, the issues of drug consumption, and especially in Northern Mumbai or Eastern Mumbai, we need to create awareness among the public about what types of drugs exist.”
Wankhede‘s history
Wankhede made news when he was heading the Narcotics Control Bureau’s Mumbai zone two years back. Around that time, the ex-NCB Zonal Director handled some high-profile incidents
Aryan Khan and the alleged drug case
On the other hand,
Aryan Khan was given a clean chit along with five others among the 14 accused in the alleged drug case. The NCB’s move came in favour of the star kid due to ‘lack of sufficient evidence’. Aryan Khan was arrested on 3 October, 2021 and was released on bail by the Bombay High Court at the end of the month.
