Actor-politician Thalapathy Vijay was addressing a crowd of over 3 lacs at his political rally in the Tamil Nadu municipality Karur that later turned berserk and led to a stampede. As per reports, the death toll rose to 39. Vijay has finally tweeted about the unfortunate incident on X.
Thalapathy Vijay wrote- “I am heartbroken; I am writhing in unbearable, indescribable pain and sorrow. I express my deepest sympathies and condolences to the families of our dear brothers and sisters who lost their lives in Karur. I pray for a speedy recovery for those undergoing treatment in the hospital.”

Rahul Gandhi said, “Deeply saddened by the tragic incident at a political rally in Karur, Tamil Nadu, that has taken so many precious lives. My heart goes out to their loved ones, and I wish a swift recovery to all those injured.”
“I urge Congress workers and leaders to extend every possible support to the victims and their families, and to work closely with the authorities in relief and rescue efforts,” added the Congress head.
