Half CA or full CA, it’s not easy being a CA. It’s a show about a girl called Archie (Ahsaas Channa) even though her life is far from being a comic book. But given the genius of TVF to pepper the ordinariness of everyday life with impeccable humour and ample doses of relatability, you still smile in spurts looking at her struggles to crack the exam. Her struggles have only turned more complicated as we enter season two like they should. This time, the stakes and risks are higher.
What’s season 2 all about?
This is how HALF CA season 2 has been described- Archie Mehta’s journey to become a Chartered Accountant continues but this time with the hurdles of balancing her studies along with also her 2-year article ship journey in a CA firm while Niraj Goyal (Archie’s cousin) is all set to answer yet another attempt at the CA final exam post which he shall become a Chartered Accountant, a title he is most determined to earn but struggles to keep focus in the new exam structures and syllabus when his past is rekindled by a special someone who was a part of his journey before.
CA, CS, Article Ship are terms every student must have heard if he or she ever studied in a hostel. The late night madness, the early morning crankiness, the exam pandemonium, the frightening nervousness of the results, the insouciance with which they flaunt their results (good or bad). Half CA has it all. The performances float smoothly with the narrative of the series, with Channa carrying the maximum burden on her shoulders. You want to root for her but given the world she chooses to jump into, you know it shall be anything but a cakewalk for her.
A show of this nature needs actors devoid of vanity, and the makers get the casting right. Not every day or every time we can buy into stars like Hrithik Roshan playing Anand Kumar in Super 30. We don’t need A-listers stripping off their vanity, we need actors who can shine in meaty and memorable roles and build vanity for them. Will Half CA season 2 pass or fail? Let’s wait for the results
