While Saiyaara performed beyond expectations at the box office, it is director Ashwin Kumar’s animated venture Mahavatar Narsimha, which came out of nowhere only to emerge as a historic blockbuster.
There was always a pre-conceive notion that an animation film, which is made in India will never be accepted by the audience. The Indian animated fipm, which last achieved success was VG Samant’s Hanuman, which released in 2005.
Apart from impacting the business of Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda starrer Saiyaara, Mahavatar Narsimha emerged as the film, whose 2nd weekend collections (Rs 32.82 crore) is exactly equal its first week at the box office.
The film (Hindi Version) registered it’s highest single day collection yesterday while his 2nd highest single day came on its 2nd Saturday.
Mahavatar Narsimha currently stands with a total collection of Rs 65.64 crore (Hindi version) and since there are no major releases in the next week, it has a chance to enter the Rs 100 crore club at the box office.
