Asha Parekh once appeared on The Invincibles Series Season 2, hosted by Arbaaz Khan, and addressed the rumours that she was married to veteran actor and her co-star Shammi Kapoor.
The actress revealed, “This is a long story. We were shooting in Mahabaleshwar, and I don’t know what came upon Om Prakash ji; he declared that Shammi and I are married. Then there was a party at Mr Nasser Hussain’s place; people started whispering (about marriage rumours). I said, ‘Yes, we are married.’ Journalist Devyani Chaubal was also in the room. She heard the rumour.”
Parekh added, “He said, ‘Don’t tell anything.’ He was playing a prank. At that time, he was having an affair with somebody. So that person got very upset.”
Asha Parekh, who gave memorable performances in films Kati Patang, Carvaan, Aan Milo Sajna, Teesri Manzil and others, slammed the makers of The Kashmir Files and asked them, ‘How much money did they give to Hindus living in Jammu?’
For the unversed, Vivek Agnihotri has directed and co-produced the film. While having a conversation with News18, the legendary actress was asked whether she had watched controversial films like
_The Kashmir Files_ and The Kerala Story, both of which were box office successes. The actress replied, “Maine picturein dekhi nahi hai toh main kaise controversy pe baat karun? Agar logo ko pasand hai toh dekhni chahiye aise filmein (I haven’t seen these films, so I can’t comment on the controversies surrounding them. But if people like watching these films, then they should watch).”
