Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Addis Ababa for a two-day State visit to Ethiopia at the invitation of Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali, who personally welcomed him at the airport.

In a rare and personal gestureM the Ehiopian PN also drove PM Modi to the hotel himself. During the journey, he made a special initiative to take PM Modi to the Science Museum and Friendship Park, stops that were not part of the official itinerary.
The visit is aimed at giving a boost to ties between the two countries, with talks likely to focus on areas like trade, agriculture, education and technology.
During his stay, PM Modi is expected to hold high-level discussions on regional and global issues that matter to both sides. He will also meet members of the Indian community in Ethiopia and speak at a joint business forum. The visit is being seen as an important step in strengthening India’s relationship with Africa’s second-most populous nation.
