Triptii Dimri is gearing up for Dhadak 2 that releases in cinemas on August 1. And in an interview recently, she spoke about expanding her oeuvre as an actor and said, “Kajol was brilliant in Gupt! I’d love to do something like that. Earlier, negative roles were seen as a distinct category—villains, essentially.”
She added, “But today, anyone can play a layered character with grey shades. The actor who portrayed the antagonist in our film is such a simple, soft-spoken person—you’d never guess he could pull off something so dark. That’s the magic of acting. I’d love to explore that space and learn something new.”
Talking about Triptii, Siddhant Chaturvedi, her co-star said last year, “The way the response towards her changed after Animal’s release (was noteworthy). Earlier, every day she would ask for tea, no one batted an eye. Cut to, post-release, they would ask her which tea she wants — masala tea, green tea, etc, etc.”
Triptii shares, “When I started my acting career, I had wished to be a part of certain kinds of films, and I have been a part of those films. Dhadak 2 is not a usual story, in fact, it is special beyond measure. It was quite challenging to play the part. I have always desired to play such kind of characters that could challenge me as an actor, so the thrill of acting continues. And I feel that was justified in Dhadak 2. We are quite proud of this film, and the audiences will realize this once they watch it in theatres.”
